That quote made me smile.
Perhaps you’ve been that bad player. The uniform doesn’t look good on you.
Your socks don’t match. Your equipment is raggedy.
But, you love the game. You may not have the most talent but, you practice hard. You give it all. You don’t like to lose. You don’t expect to lose.
And, when it comes to the final score, your effort, desire and intention cause you to prevail.
Grit matters. It matters more than talent. Don’t forget it.
