Harvest

One of our IT team members, sends me quotes he gleans from his reading. Here’s one from today:

Don’t judge each day by the harvest you reap but by the seeds that you plant.
Robert Louis Stevenson, writer

Harvests are frequently subject to factors that are out of our control. You can plow the field. Sow the seeds. Spread the fertilizer. Diligently weed and water.

But, you can impact the weather or the rainfall. Winds pileup. Suns scorch. A whole lot of magical stuff out of our control occurs in the dirt to create the crop.Harvests are frequently subject to factors that are out of our control. You can plow the field. Sow the seeds. Many a farmer have done the best they can do and not have an ideal harvest. There’s an element of faith that goes with planting and harvesting. Just how it is.

But, the analogy reminds me that if I ever receive a bountiful harvest, I have to plant the seeds. Not every harvest will be plentiful, but no harvest will come if I don’t put the work in.

So, put in the work. Let that be the measure of your success. It’s the wise approach.
