Leonardo Da Vinci was a talented, accomplished man. Most of us know him as a painter. The Mona Lisa and The Last Supper are two of his most famous works.

However, he did so much more. He sculpted. He invented. He studied the stars. He studied birds. He conceived ideas flying of machines. He conceived ideas of capturing solar power. His mind never rested.

It would appear that he was thrilled with beauty, awed by the world and inspired to create things. He was revered for his creativity.

However, what distinguished him from many of us was his commitment to take ideas and concepts and put them to work.

He made things happen. He tried experiments and learned. He built on experiences and learned from mistakes.

It would seem that he was a man of multiple talents, but his quote above lends us insight. The way to talent and accomplishment is picking up a brush and painting. Alternatively, going to the lab and experimenting.

Da Vinci reminds us that knowing something does not matter unless you do something with that knowledge.
