Pallets are an interesting business that most people don’t know that much about. Whenever I tell someone I’m involved in pallets, I can be sure some explanation will have to follow.
The National Wooden Pallet and Container Association (NWPCA) released some economic impact information this week that might surprise most of you. It did me.
The pallet industry has a total economic impact of $31 billion dollars in the United States and employs over 173,000 people. That’s huge!
The total labor compensation for the industry is above $3 billion. Production levels have increased 4% per year from 2009 to 2016.
The total summary shows our industry continues to grow and have a huge impact in serving our very complex supply chain needs in the United States.
So, if you’re called to tell about our industry, remember:
$31 Billion Economic Impact.
More than 173,000 jobs.
Still growing as an industry.
Makes me proud. Hope it does you as well.
