Are you for real? Do you matter?
It’s 6:30 in the morning and I’ve been asked this three times – in Bible verses I read, in a Twitter feed, and in a book I’m reading. When I see it three times, it registers.
Whether I am real, and matter, starts with the conversation in my head. It’s so easy to be on auto-drive. Just drift into the day and see where it takes me.
Things are different when I remind myself to be purpose-driven. That I start the day with a mission in mind.
I believe everyone has a better life if they contribute to a cause.
I believe everyone has a better life when they are learning, growing, and improving.
There’s a great sense of worth to know that you’re expected to deliver, and you meet that expectation consistently.
What you say to yourself and others matters. What you do matters.
So, hopefully, you are taking the challenge to be real. You’re making a difference daily. You don’t drift down the river of life, but you stick your paddle in the water and move with pace.
Let me point out to you that there are drifters around and amongst us. One of the best things we can do is to help others start rowing.
You are meant to count. You are meant to make a difference. Be real. Matter more.
