Our colleague Cliff Daniels sent me a quote this weekend:

“With enough persistence, luck always shows up.”

I’ve heard quotes like that often. Former filmmaker Samuel Goldwyn said it this way: “The harder I work, the luckier I get.”

We all experience times of discouragement.  We find ourselves in a situation where the cards are stacked against us, and it appears that we have a tough road in front of us.

These quotes remind us that “hard work and persistence” are two things we can and should rely on when things aren’t happening well for us.

I’ve been through assorted business cycles in my life. When things aren’t going well, it doesn’t mean it will stay that way. I have found that if I show up and continue to do the best I can, things have a way of turning around.

So, on any given day, there will be a number of you on our team who need to be reminded to keep on going. We have reserves that are untapped. There is help on the way.

Be persistent. Keep trying. Work hard.
