Do you ever feel “burned out”?
I heard a discussion about being “burned out” recently. The speaker (Bill Hybels) was arguing that a mistake many people make is to wait for “burn out” to occur before they address the cause of it. To him, the reasoning was obvious. You can’t rebuild a fire if there is no fuel.
The better question is, “Do you have a strategy for replenishment?”
What’s your answer to that question?
Daily prayer? Regular exercise? Volunteer work? Time with friends and family that makes you happy? A creative outlet where you can lose yourself for minutes or hours? Reading? A pursuit of a new skill or education? A time to teach others or mentor others?
Just like being intentional about doing our work well, it’s important to have a plan for refueling your heart, mind and spirit. What is yours?
