“Choices, chances, changes. You must make a choice to take a chance if you want anything in life to change.” – Zig Ziglar
A common value we express is “happening to the world” before the world happens to us.
It’s an active strategy. It demands that we not be passive. No doubt, stuff happens to us every day that we don’t see coming. Happening to the world says when stuff happens, we don’t stay down. We endeavor to make the next play. We strive to learn. We bring our resources to bear to improve the situation.
This Ziglar quote is proactive.
It starts with a choice. Choice is action. It’s trying to anticipate. See around the corner. Fixing something before it breaks. Creating something first.
So that’s the chance part. You make a choice to take a chance. It may work, but it may not. But for sure, nothing good happens if we don’t take chances.
So here’s the question. What should we be choosing to take a chance on?
Choosers and chance takers “happen to the world.” It brings the kind of change that sets us apart.
