Jack Welch was a business giant as Chairman and CEO of General Electric. As you can tell from the above quote, he would be an advocate of “happening to the world.”
I’ve used this term through the years. It’s based on the idea that each of us have a say about how things go in our life.
I’ve had friends who would say that the world was against them. If something can go wrong, it will. If it wasn’t for bad luck, they’d have no luck at all.
I’ve encouraged our teammates through the years to adopt a different attitude. We enter every situation with the potential to make things better. We can encourage others. We can be generous. We can contribute ideas. We can pick up a broom and sweep.
I call that “happening to the world.”
