PALLETS MOVE THE WORLD

The PalletCentral Magazine, the publication of the National Wooden Pallet and Container Association recently published a report on the economic impact of pallets.

Here are some facts to know:

The pallet industry has experienced seven straight years of growth, rebounding from The Great Recession of 2008-9.

As of 2016, our industry employed more than 67,000 workers, PalletOne employs more than 1000 of these workers.  The output value of our industry is $10.7 billion.  There are another 92,000 employees who have employment closely related to the ups and downs of the industry.

Our growth rate in 2016 was 7.4%

There are almost 2 billion pallets circulating through the US in any given point of time.

While most people don’t get what we do, I hope you take great satisfaction in the impact pallets have on the economy and the supply chain.  More products than not move from production to consumption on a pallet.  The activity in our plants is a tremendous predictor of what is going on in the economy.  We know a slow up is coming before most people see it and we see economic buildup before most people do as well.

The NWPCA is known to say that “Pallets Move the World.”  I think the study shows that such a statement is warranted.
