RECRUITING

We are only as good as our teammates!

People make their way to our team through various routes. They respond to ads. They see a banner and walk in off the street. They grow up in the community and come here because it’s convenient.

I’ve had a hand in building our team for over 40 years. One of the best recruitment tools is our teammates recruiting their network for additional teammates.

Conduct an experiment:Β Ask some of your colleagues, especially those who have been around and make things happen daily, how they got here and why they stayed.

The answer will frequently be, β€œI knew someone who recommended I try for the job.”

That’s you. To be a good recruiter, you need to be a β€œfan” of our business. Believe in it enough to be enthusiastic about recommending it.

The second thing is to be alert and curious. It’s second nature to me now. I’m always assessing the potential of those I meet. While watching youth league sports, I’m always on the lookout for 12-year-olds with impressive leadership skills on the chance I can recruit them when they grow up and are on the job market.

We have countless opportunities at UFP and PalletOne. We have plants that are yet to be built. We have ambitions to grow our national footprint. We have geographical opportunities from coast to coast.

We offer steady employment, competitive wages, and benefits. For the ambitious, you can start small and grow to whatever heights your hard work and capability takes you.

Recommend us. Recruit for us. It’s a winning strategy.
