Trust = effective teams

People want to be trusted. They respond to trust. They thrive on trust. Whatever our situation, we need to get good at establishing, extending, and restoring trustβ€”not as a manipulative technique, but as the most effective way of relating to and workingΒ withΒ others and the most effective way of getting results.

In his book, The Speed of Trust, Stephen Covey says β€œPeople want to be trusted.”

When trust exists, the team is more fluid. They know each person will do their job. Each person will be where they are supposed to be.Β

You build trust by honoring your word.Β

You build trust by being on time and hitting deadlines.Β

You build trust by not compromising standards on service and quality.Β

You build trust by knowing every teammate who relies on you and delivering what they expect.Β

Are you contributing to a high level of trust among your teammates? If you’re not, you are destined to lose.

Be trustworthy. Model trustworthiness.Β
