Unselfish, Together, and Hard

“All the successful teams I’ve ever seen have three characteristics: They play unselfish, they play together, and they play hard.” Larry Brown, Hall of Fame basketball coach.

Do those characteristics apply to your team?

Unselfish. The members of the team put the priorities of the team above individual needs. There is no resentment because of prima donna behavior.

Together. Everyone does their job, and there is trust. Help is readily available when a teammate struggles. Cooperation is the norm. People don’t point fingers. They work to improve things.

Hard. The pace is good. Quick starts. High standards. No coasting. The team takes seriously achieving and maintaining a high standard.

Is your team good? If not, consider this. Be a role model. Be unselfish. Be the ideal teammate. Pour your energy and effort into your work.
