David Pollack was an undersized defensive lineman coming out of high school. While he was a good football player, most coaches declined to give him a chance.Β
Georgiaβs head coach at the time, Mark Richt, took a different approach. He loved Pollackβs work ethic. He saw a leader, a good teammate, and a coachable player. Richt thought those character traits were good for the team, so he offered Pollack a scholarship.Β
Pollack became an All-American. He made it to the NFL.
I saw a clip of him recently. He offered this observation:
βPeople are watching you.Β They are assessing you.β
Pollack says that if you bring your best every day, you will be noticed, and you will have more opportunities. Your daily effort will matter.Β
You can work and act in such a way to attract attention. Or you can do the opposite.Β
But donβt be fooled. How you go about life tells your story.
