How do you handle “hard?”
Are you adept at responding to hard circumstances?
Reflecting on how I personally handle hard, I quickly developed some thoughts…
First, I have to admit that I’ve been blessed when it comes to having to cope with hard things in my life. But when they do occur, I am fortunate to have a support team around me to share in the experience. I know so many who are having to adjust to hard times.
Second, hard happens to me. I don’t seek it out. I wouldn’t have chosen most of the hard experiences that have come my way. The hard happened, and I had to respond.
So, I’ve learned when hard arises, it’s essential to “happen to it.” I have discovered that however hard it is, I have choices about what to do. I have choices about my attitude and mental approach. I can choose strategies to help make things better. The people who master their own minds are the ones who make the best out of hard situations.
A unique observation is that some people make it a habit to “choose” hard things and attack them. Things like:
Those who search for and embrace hard have a way of achieving success and satisfaction in life.
What hard thing are you avoiding? Every good outcome is on the other side of hard.
