Brock Purdy, the Super Bowl-bound San Francisco 49ers’ second-year quarterback, inspires many.
He was a relatively obscure quarterback coming out of Iowa State. Good enough to be drafted, but he was the last person drafted in the Class of 2021.
Last year, injuries to the QBs in front of him forced him into a starting role. He exceeded all expectations by leading his team to the playoffs. He did so well that he was named the permanent starter and led his team back to the big game.
A reporter asked Purdy what his mindset has been that helped him succeed.
Here’s what he said:
Be present.
Don’t be fazed by the fire.
Count your blessings. It keeps your heart right.
